Kristi Margison, a Certified/Licensed Teacher Specializing in Reading & Kinesiology will be running this new club. She has 10+ years in the classroom and coaching, and is also a Fitness/Personal Trainer. This club is about physical activity- mix of games, interval training, strength training, stretching while having FUN, but emphasis on the 5 elements of physical fitness (cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, and endurance, fixability, body composition). Students will discuss healthy food choices, portion control, and MyPlate guidelines. There is also mental health education- core building activities, character values/development, stress strategies, and positive self-image/esteem.
This club will run 2 days a week- Tuesday/Thursday, from 7:45-8:40am. Classes begin on March 30th and run until May 18th. The limit is 25 students grades 3-5. The fee is $112 for 1st child, and a 10% discount for additional siblings. Registration will be open from Thursday, March 23rd at 10:00am through Monday, March 27th at 10:00am. The 25 participants will be selected through a lottery if more than 25 participants sign up.
