Pajama Drive (November 26-30)- Kindergarten champions UPDATE: WE COLLECTED 163 PAJAMAS!
It’s time for the annual Scholastic Book Clubs Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive benefiting Pajama Program, a national nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and storybooks to at-risk children. Please help us transform bedtime by bringing a new pair of pajamas to school by November 26-30th 2018. Scholastic will match each pair of jammies with a storybook!
Here are some guidelines for the pajamas:
Pajamas must be brand-new. Pajamas in all sizes are needed – from newborn to adult, but they are especially in need of sizes for school-aged kids.
Pajamas must be complete sets or nightgowns.
Pajamas in children’s sizes must be manufactured as pajamas – this ensures they are flame-retardant and safe.
Coins for Change (January 17)- First grade champions- WE COLLECTED $826.88 IN LOOSE CHANGE!
All funds raised were donated to Homeward Alliance to support their "One Village One Family" program (a program that matches volunteers with a family experiencing homelessness to help them regain housing) and our "Children in Need" program (that provides a children’s clothing closet and quarterly distribution events for families).
Canned Food Drive (February 11th – 15th) – 3rd grade champions
Zach Elementary’s annual food drive will be the week of February 11 through 15. We are excited to support the Larimer County Food Bank once again. Our goal is to line the main, downstairs hallway of the school. According to the food bank, their most needed items are peanut butter, canned meat/fish (chicken, tuna, salmon), canned fruit in fruit juice, whole grain cereal, whole grain pasta, brown rice, and macaroni and cheese. Of course, all canned and boxed food items are welcome. Thank you for supporting Zach as we help others.
Jump Rope for Heart (February 25th - March 1st) – PE champions
Blood Drive (February 20) – parent champions
B. We host one campaign every other year: Next event January 2020 ▪ iCarebyHair - hair donation
C. We also promote individual student campaigns! If your child organizes a donation drive for a secular organization benefiting kids and families, please email email@example.com. Although we cannot assist with the logistics, we will help promote the event!
