Futures Lab project, Long Range Plan and Construction updates

Good morning, everyone!

We hope your Wednesdays are off to a great start. Last night, the Board of Education received an update regarding PSD’s Long Range Plan, construction of bond-funded projects (including the $40 million in planned improvements to existing schools) and the Futures Lab project.

CLICK HERE to see an exciting Futures Lab project announcement that will go out today about lunchtime to parents/guardians, students and community partners. You will see information therein about inaugural programming planned for the 2019-20 school year and startup funding from the PSD Foundation.  If you have questions about the Futures Lab project, please reach out to Scott Elias, director of innovative learning environment design and the project lead, at selias@psdschools.org.

If you’d like to learn more about the status of various construction projects, go online to the PSD website and check out the PowerPoint presented to the Board Tuesday night, as well as the various project webpages. The conceptual designs for the new middle/high schools and the addition to Zach Elementary were unveiled last night and are on display in the lobby of the JSSC through Friday. RB+B Architects Inc. put together a neat flyover video (also on the PSD site if you don’t have access to Facebook, etc.) that takes viewers on a flight through and over the new Prospect site campus. That’s gotten strong positive feedback since it was posted last night on PSD’s branded Facebook account.

Enjoy the rest of your weeks!
