Why do you love being a teacher?:

I have the best job in the world! I get to see students learn, grow, struggle and celebrate all they're learning and doing! It is so exciting and satisfying to see students "get it" and then use their knowledge in ways they couldn't before.

What do you like to do outside of school?:

I am a pretty relaxed person at home.  I love to play with my boys, take my dog, Fetch, on walks and play with him, hang out with my friends, cook and of course, read great books.  I also love to see movies, concerts, and plays.

What is a favorite quote of yours?:

"I cannot live without books" ~Thomas Jefferson

"It does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live." ~Albus Dumbledore

"Today me will live in the moment unless it's unpleasant in which case me will eat a cookie."  ~Cookie Monster

Courses Taught:

This is my 23nd year teaching!  I spent the first half of my career (so far) as an integrated services teacher and the second half as a  fourth grade teacher at Zach .  This year I'm continuing my support role focused on designing and implementing social, emotional, and behavioral interventions.

About My Classroom:

My classes are fun, productive, and challenging in a really positive way.   We laugh a lot, try our hardest, and work together to become the best versions of ourselves. I want my classroom to be a place where kids know adults believe in them, and believe they are capable of anything!
